Arika Gloud (Velveteen Rabbit) is so excited to perform in her very first show at SecondStory Rep! After graduating from Cal State San Bernardino, she has performed in numerous productions across the nation as well as a stint performing in Greece. Since moving to the Northwest in 2010, she has performed on several boats and ships and most recently, has worked at Annex Theatre and with quiet. She regularly performs in murder mysteries with Events on the Edge and has toured schools around Snohomish County with Open Door Theatre. Arika would like to thank her fiancé, Matt Hemphill, for supporting her and always helping her learn her lines when he'd rather be playing video games or eating sandwiches.

Jason Philip Hay (Model Boat/Dancing & Wild Rabbit/Doctor) is a Seattle stage, film, television and web actor, and voiceover artist. He most recently appeared in the Baylight Dinner Theatre production of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play,’ in a number of roles ranging from Clarence to Harry to Sam to Martini. This is Jason’s first show with SSR, and he is extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a lovely story, one his mother read to him many times as a child.

Brad Walker (The Boy) is always proud to return to the SSR stage; previously seen as Philippe in Puss in Boots and as Frankie in Forever Plaid. A graduate of the UW, with degrees in Drama and Marketing; some recent credits include: Bob in The Fabulous Lipitones and Barnaby in The Matchmaker (Taproot), and Chip Tolentino in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (SMT). Brad is also a youth theater educator and plays Spider-Man at city events and children’s birthday parties too. Thank you for supporting the arts!

Kate Moyer (Nana/Timothy the Tin Soldier) is so happy to be making her SSR debut! Kate has been a theater artist (actor, singer, director, playwright) in Seattle for more than ten years. Previous credits and favorite roles include: Tracy Turnblad (Hairspray- SMT), Sheila (The Boys Next Door- StageRIGHT), Candy (Blood Pudding- Breeder’s Theatre), Queen Brigitte (Puss in Boots- Hi-Liners MTGS), and Rusty (Footloose). When not on stage Kate also: teaches drama, slings lattes, and uses hashtags in conversation. #SupportTheArts

MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Vincent J. Orduña (Director) After receiving a BA in theater, VJ did his post-graduate work at The National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York City. He then did the starving actor “thing”, which led to the touring actor “thing,” that led him back to NYC and the directing “thing.” He was the Cultural Arts Coordinator for the City of Renton and Manager of the City’s Carco Theatre for 14 years. VJ has directed at several regional and community theaters, including Renton Civic Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, and Carco Theatre. Directing this show, and working with this amazingly talented group of artists and technicians has been a most joyful experience.

Melanie LeDuc (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be working with SecondStory Repertory once more! Melanie has stage managed for SSR once before on A Christmas Carol and A Christmas Carol Jr. last month. Originally from Seattle, she holds a degree in stage management and arts administration from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Melanie has worked with a variety of theaters and theater companies in Boston, London, Florida, and Seattle. She is elated to be doing what she loves and is ever grateful for the opportunities provided to her. She looks forward to working with SecondStory once more in the spring on Legally Blonde: The Musical! Love and thanks to her family and friends for their support, her coworkers and bosses for their patience, and the Squolf for its faith and generosity!

Jocelyne Fowler (Costume Design) has designed for Book-It Repertory Theatre (Pride and Prejudice, Frankenstein, Anna Karenina, and Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet), Seattle Shakespeare Company (Richard II), Wooden O (Two Gentlemen of Verona, Henry V and The Tempest), Bellevue College (Into the Woods and Dead Man’s Cell Phone), Seattle Musical Theatre (Young Frankenstein and Legally Blonde), Youth Theatre Northwest (Spring Awakening, Shrek: The Musical, Little Women, and The Sound of Music), Harlequin Productions (Clybourne Park, Jesus Christ Superstar), SecondStory Repertory (Chess: The Musical) and other local theaters. Upcoming work can be seen in Carnival with Bellevue College and Avenue Q at Youth Theatre Northwest.
