Stefanie Van Rafelghem (Kid) is thrilled to be performing in her first SecondStory Repertory TYA show! Previously, she has appeared in SSR's production of The Last Starfighter. Other roles include Spot Conlon/Newsie ensemble in Newsies (Kitsap Forest Theatre), Christmas Eve in Avenue Q (Red Curtain Foundation), and ensemble in 9 to 5 (Twelfth Night Productions) and The Producers (Seattle Musical Theatre). She studies voice with Carla Hilderbrand, dance at VAM Studios School of Dance and Westlake Dance Center, and tumbling with Nathan Drackett. She spends most of her free time with her dog, Latte.

Elizabeth Alm (Squolfie) is absolutely squolfatively stoked to be back at SecondStory Rep for her second TYA show! Past credits include: Junie B Jones is Not a Crook (Junie B Jones) (SSR) She can also be seen representing our founding father, George Washington, in the web series ‘Politically Motivated’ via Glass Iris Productions. Love and gratitude for the humans in my corner, supporting and cheering me along the way.

Sara Trowbridge (Wolfington) is tickled to be joining the denizens of Peanut Woolhaven and their fearless leader for this delightful tale. Last seen on the TYA stage as the Queen in Sparkle Fairy's School for Formerly Vile Villains, she continues her villainous ways ... but this time, with a little less sparkle and a little more knitting. Sara is a Pacific Northwest theater veteran, and some of her favorite roles include Belinda in Noises Off (SecondStory Repertory), Sissy in the world premier musical The Hours of Life (Theatre22), God in Wild Party (Sound Theatre Company), and Jane Banbury in Fallen Angels (Theater Schmeater). Sara's favorite nut is the pistachio.

Graham Arthur Blair (Squirrelkovski/Merchant) is making his bright-eyed, bushy-tailed debut in children’s theater here at SecondStory Repertory. He most recently appeared as Giuseppe Zangara in Assassins at SecondStory. When he’s not too busy juggling theater and work, he spends his time brewing beer in his garage, and singing until closing time at late-night karaoke bars. Next up: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Twelfth Night Productions!

Tristan Carruthers (Puddles) is ecstatic to bring Puddles back to the stage, having had the opportunity to originate the role Fall of 2017, and to get back on stage after having directed Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook. MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Kate Swenson (Director) is the Executive Education Director at Youth Theatre NW, as well as an actor, director, educator, designer, and playwright. Most recently at SecondStory she appeared as Berte in Boeing, Boeing, and she directed The Last Starfighter. She is delighted to bring this reworked production of Fluffy Tale back to SSR. Her plays for young actors have been produced throughout the Pacific Northwest including this year’s The Reluctant Dragon: A Heavy Metal Fantasy, Cinderella Rockin’ The 80s, The Princess and the Frog, and Glinda of Oz. John Allman (Composer/Lyricist) is over the moon to have a fresh look at a show originally written and staged in 2017, and to work with the show’s co-creator Kate Swenson to boot! John has written music for 4 musicals for young audiences, & he also wrote lyrics for 3 of the shows - all produced for SecondStory Repertory’s Theater for Young Audiences since 2015: The Snow Queen, The Fluffy Tale of Adventure, Alice in Wonderland (original adaptation), and Sparkle Fairyʼs School for Formerly Vile Villains, with lyrics by Pat Haines-Ainsworth. In 2019 John was music director for a staged reading of his own musical Fur Pajamas, with book & lyrics by David Ceci, presented by Seattle Playwrights Salon. John was music director for a reading of his brief sung-through adaptation of Edgar Allan Poeʼs House of Usher at the Palace Theatre & Art Bar in Seattle in October 2017, presented by Seattle Playwrights Salon. A developmental workshop of his Alice in Wonderland, titled The Mask of Alice was presented at the International Museum of Folk Art in Santa Fe, NM, co-sponsored by Santa Fe Opera Education Department. He also wrote vocal and incidental music for productions of Henry V and Agamemnon at La MaMa ETC in NYC. John is a member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild of America. He has received ASCAP Panel Awards and a grant from Meet the Composer. John has been music director for many musical theater productions and readings in and around the region, including: SecondStory Repertory (Assassins, Little Shop of Horrors), Showtunes (A Man of No Importance), Lyric Light Opera (The King and I, Camelot, The Sound of Music), Village Theatre Originals (The Last Starfighter, Barnstormer), Village Theatre Kidstage (The Wizard of Oz, Honk!, Jr.), and Seattle Musical Theater (Tommy, Gypsy, Man of La Mancha).
