FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL

Book & Lyrics by Susan DiLallo
Music & Lyrics by Danny Abosch
Based on the book series written by Jane O'Connor with Illustrations by Robin Preiss Glasser

Pour a spot of tea and get ready to enjoy the most elegant children's musical of the year. Fancy Nancy the Musical follows Nancy and her friends as they prepare for their very first school recital. Nancy is positive -- that's "fancy" for "100 percent sure" -- that she'll be selected to be a mermaid. But when another girl wins the coveted role, leaving Nancy stuck playing a dreary tree, she's determined to bring flair to the mundane role. Based on the best-selling children's picture books by Jane O'Connor and adapted for the stage by Susan DiLallo and Danny Abosch, this fun family musical features great songs, clever lyrics and valuable lessons.

PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES

Her plays have won awards including SMU’s 2015 Rosenfield Award for Excellence in Playwriting and the 2015 Audience Choice Award for Best Play at the 8 in 48 Festival for Young Audiences in Meridian, Idaho. When she's not onstage or typing a script you can find her reading good books, plunking on a piano, drinking coffee, snuggling her cat, spending time with her most loved humans, and teaching theater classes at Studio East!

Hayley Ewerz (Mother) is proud to be returning onstage to SecondStory’s Theater for Young Audiences after choreographing How I Became a Pirate! You may also recognize her as the crazy kitten in a Hello Kitty onesie from this season’s A Christmas Carol Jr. Since moving to Seattle three years ago from Dallas, she has performed with SecondStory’s mainstage, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Renton Civic Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, and Driftwood Players. Up next: The Music Man at Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre! Love to her husband, family, and friends!

Nikki has her BFA in musical theater and is also a teaching artist in the Seattle area. Nikki has worked at many theaters including Leavenworth Summer Theatre, Couer d'Alene Summer Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, and Renton Civic Theatre. Nikki would like to thank her family and friends who continually support her dreams and an abundant amount of love to Nicholas without whom nothing would be possible. Don't forget, anyone can be fancy!

Emily Ann Johnson (Nancy) is beyond excited to be back at SecondStory Repertory! She loves nothing more than performing for children and inspiring them through the magic of theater! Regional credits include: How To Succeed… (The 5th Avenue Theatre), 42nd Street and Robin Hood… (Village Theatre), Annie (Grace/At the Ridge Theatre), Swing!
