CORDUROY

Story by Don Freeman
Adapted for the Stage by Barry Kornhauser

Join Corduroy on his delightfully destructive chase through every section of the department store in search of his missing button. Will the night watchman find him and return him to his shelf before he can find his important button? Will Lisa ever convince her mother to let her give the bear a home? The tender, enduring story about true friendship stirs up the stage with a bustling rumpus of action!

PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES

Katelyn Douay (Corduroy) is ecstatic about the opportunity to work with SecondStory Repertory on Corduroy. In fact, it was one of her favorite books as a child, often reading it before bed. Getting to see the story come alive on stage is especially exciting. Although this is her first show with SecondStory, she has been acting since age 8. Favorite roles and productions include Tinkerbell in Peter and Wendy, Beatrice in The Servant of Two Masters, and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She would like to thank the mentors and teachers she has had in the arts, without whom she would not be here today: Dyugu Monson, Jordyn Meeker, James Wilson, and Lori Hayden.

Sara Trowbridge (Night Watchman) is thrilled to return to the SecondStory stage, and not be the Mom (not that Moms aren’t awesome, because THEY ARE)! Sara is a Pacific Northwest theater veteran, and was last seen here this year on the mainstage as the Mom in The Last Starfighter, and on the TYA stage as the Mom in The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. Other favorite (non-Mom) roles include Belinda in Noises Off (SecondStory Repertory), Sissy in the world premier musical The Hours of Life (Theatre22), God in Wild Party (Sound Theatre Company), and Jane Banbury in Fallen Angels (Theater Schmeater).

MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM (bios as provided)

Laurie Roberts McClain (Costumes) is delighted to be working once again with the team at SSR. She has designed more than 30 shows here and over 70 shows in her 15 years doing this rewarding work. Her work has also been seen at Bellevue Youth Theatre and Youth Theatre Northwest. Thanks as always to the Squolf for the opportunity, and to my supportive husband who understands that art is essential to all humans... Enjoy the show!!
