CHRISTMAS CAROL JUNIOR 2015

Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel by Mark Chenovick
Arrangements and Original Music by Terrence Levitt Alaric

Join us for story time at the North Pole as Mrs. Claus and her cats bring the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge to life in this original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Meet all of your favorite characters as we journey through time discovering the true meaning of Christmas. Afraid of ghosts? No problem. The ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future are all portrayed by the zaniest kittens in Santa's workshop - and who could possibly be afraid of a silly little kitty? Kick off the holiday season right with the SSR family and celebrate this timeless seasonal classic right here in Redmond. Photos by Michael Brunk | NWlens.com

PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES

Britt Boyd (Mrs. "Chicken Legs" Clause) is delighted to return to Christmas Carol Jr. for a second year! Kids know her as the Pigeon (Knuffle Bunny), Gopher (Rapunzel), Dr Wink (Pinkalicious) and dozens of other characters from SecondStory's TYA shows. Grown-ups have seen her work at Seattle Public Theatre, STAGEright, Seattle Musical Theatre, Village Theatre and on SecondStory's mainstage. By day, Britt can be found illuminating young minds through her teaching artist work with Seattle Children's Theatre and a number of private schools. Cheers!

Hayley Ewerz (Kitten of Christmas Past) is proud to be making her Theater for Young Audiences debut here at SecondStory Repertory with such a talented cast and crew! Christmas is her favorite time of year, and she loves performing during the holidays! You may have seen her dancing in Snowflake Lane- she was the Jingle Belle dance captain for two consecutive years- and currently you can watch her sing Christmas carols and other choral works with the Kirkland Choral Society in both the large and small ensemble. A Dallas native, she moved to Seattle three years ago and has since performed all over the Pacific Northwest. Love to her family and friends! Merry Christmas!

John Clark ("Scruffy" Scrooge) is again delighted, and honored to be back playing Scrooge in A Christmas Carol for the fourth straight year here at SecondStory Rep. You may remember him in other shows here such as Walter in Keely and Du, Orgon in Tartuffe, Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing, and Orsini Rosenberg in Amadeus. Most recently he was in Port Townsend at Key City Public Theatre playing Lord Edgar, and Jane the house keeper in The Mystery of Irma Vep. He has also performed at The Seattle Rep, Village Theatre, Empty Space, Pioneer Sq. quiet, Stone Soup, The Virginia City Players, Driftwood and many others around the Seattle area and beyond. This last year he has appeared in 5 by Beckett with Sound Theatre, The Lower Depths with Theatre Machine, and I Gelosi with STAGEright. Other favorite roles include: Ellard in The Foreigner, Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Mozart in Amadeus, The Old Man in Fool for Love, Dr Chausible in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Clov in Samuel Beckett’s Endgame. He wishes to thank YOU for being here tonight and hopes your heart will rejoice along with us as we present this wonderful classic story!

Chelsea Moe (Kitten of Christmas Future) Nothing gets Chelsea in the Christmas spirit more than A Christmas Carol! This is Chelsea's second year performing in this show at SecondStory Rep, and she couldn't be happier to be reprising her role of The Ghost of Christmas Future. Other credits include Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Ensemble in Sweeney Todd, Little Red in Little Red Riding Hood, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors, and Annabelle Lee in Still Life With Iris. Chelsea would like to give a big thanks to her cat Duck, for being Duck, and to her Fiance for supporting her theater addiction.

Lauren Pearsall (Kitten Marley/Kitten Present) is so thrilled to be working with SSR again! A Redmond native, and CWU Theater Arts BFA graduate, Lauren can’t wait to share this show with everyone. Previous credits include Carol in Oleanna (Dogtown Theatre Company), Ligniere in Cyrano de Bergerac (Driftwood Players) and Mom/Miss Overlook in Still Life With Iris (Central Theatre Ensemble). So much love to friends and family for their ongoing support and enthusiasm. Enjoy the show!
