Robert Bogue (Lloyd) has been with SecondStory Rep since the 3rd season. Some of Robert’s favorite roles at SSR include Harry Brock in “Born Yesterday”, Alfred Dolittle in “My Fair Lady”, Orsino “Twelfth Night” Papa Bear in “Goldilocks”, and Himself in “Complete Wrks of Shakespeare Abrgd”, “Complete History of America”, and “Complete Word of God”. Robert has also enjoyed directing several mainstage and Theater for Young Audiences shows at SSR. Favorites include “Lend Me a Tenor”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, “Misery”, “Last of the Red Hot Lovers”, “Kind Hearts and Coronets”, “The Brave Little Tailor”, “Cinderella”, “Elves and the Shoemaker”, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and “The Rocky Horror Show.” Robert is the founder and artistic director of Split Second Improv, and holds a BS in theater arts from Southern Utah University where he also performed with the Tony award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival. He is originally from Utah, where he performed and directed at many regional theaters as well as appearances in independent film and the television series Touched by an Angel and Unsolved Mysteries. Robert recently directed a critically acclaimed production of “The Elephant Man” for StageRIGHT Theatre in Seattle.

Jaryl Draper (Freddie/Philip) This is Jaryl's first show with SecondStory Rep and he feels very lucky to be a part of this incredible show. Around town he has worked with such theaters as Stone Soup, Arouet, Greenstage, Harlequin, Women Seeking…, Ghost Light Theatricals, Pacific Play Company, Seattle Theater Works, UPAC, Renton Civic Theatre, 14/48, Annex, and Book It Rep. Some of his favorite roles include Rudi in The Tempermentals, Jerry in The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Starbuck in the Rainmaker, Uncle Peck in How I Learned to Drive, and Father Flynn in Doubt. He is also excited to share the stage with his wife for the second time this year.

Madison Rengli (Brooke/Vicki) is so pleased to be a part of her third production with SecondStory Rep. You might recognize her as the mom from Knuffle Bunny and Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web. She has worked with Seattle Theater Works, Annex, Mirum Mirum Productions, Renton Civic Theatre, Quiet, B-Sides and Rarities, and Central Washington University where she received her B.A in Theater Performance. Madison looks forward to new and exciting challenges that await her and her husband on their theatrical journey.

Adam St. John (Garry/Roger) is thrilled to be returning to SecondStory after performing as Katurian in The Pillowman in October. He relocated back to Washington after getting his MFA in Acting from Indiana University, where he also directed and taught. He will be playing Palamon in The Two Noble Kinsman this summer for Greenstage. All his love goes to Melissa and Stella.

Sara Trowbridge (Belinda/Flavia) is delighted to return to SSR, and cannot wait for another epic throw-down with Stephanie. Sara is a Pacific Northwest theater veteran. Recent roles include Justine in The Love List with SecondStory Repertory, and Sissy in the world premier musical The Hours of Life with Theatre22. Other recent roles include God in Wild Party (Sound Theatre Company), Rosalind in Moon Over Buffalo (SecondStory Repertory) and Jane Banbury in Fallen Angels (Theater Schmeater. “What the caterpillar perceives as the end, to the butterfly is just the beginning.”

Stephanie McBain (Dotty Otley/Mrs. Clackett) is an active actress, director, and teacher in the greater Seattle area, and serves on the National Board of Directors of the Choristers Guild. Favorite roles at SecondStory Rep. include Veta Louise in Harvey, Reba in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Mama Bear in Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Modron (the dark witch) in Sleeping Beauty. She has also directed in SSR’s Theater for Young Audiences series – most recently Charlotte’s Web. She sends her love and thanks to her husband, Kevin, and their daughter, Kathryn Grace.

Dale Bowers (Selsdon) This is Dale's 8th show at SSR and he's delighted to be back. Favorite roles here include "Walgrave" in The Nerd, "Mr. Maraczek" in She Loves Me and "Colonel Pickering" in My Fair Lady. Next up for Dale is a 3 week trip to England, Scotland and Wales in August with his wife (Carrie), daughter (Rachel) and son (Shane). Cheerio!

Kate Swenson (Poppy) is thrilled to be a part of Noises Off at SSR. Past productions include Allison in Pinkalicious and Mayor Maggie in Bat Boy. She has also directed numerous Theater for Young Audiences shows, most recently Knuffle Bunny and Alexander and the...Very Bad Day. As the Director of Education at Youth Theatre NW Kate gets to play with theater all day long. When not on stage, Kate loves reading and writing fiction, experimenting in the kitchen, and visiting friends and family across the country.

MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Kevin Miller (Director) is delighted to return to SecondStory Rep and take on a fantastic script with this stellar cast. It has been lovely to renew some earlier theater relationships and also to make some exciting new ones. Most recently at SSR, Kevin wrote incidental music for “Charlotte’s Web,” wrote the book, music and lyrics for “Puss in Boots” (with Clay Zambo), and directed “Pinkalicious: the Musical” (the 2013 produciton), “Beauty and the Beast” (also writing music and lyrics with Mr. Zambo) and “Sleeping Beauty.” Thanks to Mark and Jen for the opportunity to direct a favorite show, to Cat for being an awesome stage manager, and to the entire production team for sharing their talents on this journey. Kevin is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild and a trustee of Seattle Repertory Theatre. Love as always to Stephanie and Kathryn.

Catrina Lee-Vroman (Stage Manager) is delighted to be back with SecondStory on somewhat lighter fare, after last working on Pillowman. She’s most recently been spending her days with Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE, and will next be working with Taproot Theatre's Road Company and Dracula. Thanks to the Squolf, Samantha, and Kevin. Jen Chenovick (Light Design) Jen's theatrical career began in 2002 when she was asked to assistant stage manage The Importance of Being Ernest right here at SSR. Following her passion for theater Jen moved to Hollywood in 2005 where she stage managed for The Blank Theatre including the oddly satisfying Lobster Alice starring Noah Wylie and Nicholas Brendon. While in California, she also worked with Syzygy Theatre Group and the World Premiere of Tender, Abi Morgan’s trenchant drama of the human hunger for connection. Jen moved back to Redmond in 2007 and jumped right back into her work with SSR. During her eighteen plus years at SSR Jen has worn many hats, from stage manager to production manager to managing director and now light design. Special thanks to my parents, they’re pretty cool.

Mark Chenovick (Set Design/Technical Director) has been designing, building, and painting sets since the mid-eighties. Having the fortune to begin his theatrical career under the tutelage of Don McLaughlin in his hometown of Helena Montana, Mark continued his training at the University of Washington where he was accepted into the Graduate Design Seminar his sophomore year. With subsequent degrees in Art History and Drama, Mark went on to serve as technical director/designer for multiple organizations including: Virginia Musical Theatre, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Little Theater of the Rockies, and the Norfolk Governor’s School for the Arts. As Technical Director/Production Manager of the national tour of Anything Goes (starring Gloria Loring) Mark travelled around the United States and Canada realizing that there is no place quite as wonderful as the Pacific Northwest. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, and following a brief stint as a carpenter at The Studio Theatre in Washington D.C., he moved back to Seattle. Locally he has worked behind the scenes for the Village Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, Redwood Theatre, and, of course, SecondStory Repertory.


Mark Chenovick (Sound Design) I began my sound design journey splicing reel-to-reel tape together in the basement of the original Penthouse Theater on the University of Washington campus but it was my brief time in the MFA program at Utah State University, where I learned the joys of digital sound design, and subsequently, became hooked on sound design for life. Having provided composed and curated underscoring and soundscaping, original and sourced sound effects, and performance amplification services for multiple theaters across the US, I have felt the most at home at SSR.
