John Clark (Ebenezer Scrooge) considers it an honor to play this role every year here at SecondStory Rep and help bring this timeless story to life! Other roles here at SSR include Antonio in Much Ado about Nothing, Orgon in Tartuffe, Orsini Rosenberg in Amadeus, and Walter in Keely and Du. He has appeared at The Seattle Rep, Village Theatre, Empty Space, Pioneer Sq. and many others. With Sound Theatre Co. he appeared in 5 by Beckett in numerous roles and played Charlie "The Duck" Clench in the Seattle premier of One Man, Two Guvnor's. Recently he has played Ray in Yankee Tavern by Steven Dietz and Dr. Stockman in Ibsen's An Enemy of the People. Other favorite roles include Lord Edgar/Jane in The Mystery of Irma Vep at Key City Public Theatre, Ellard in the Foreigner, Mozart in Amadeus, The Old Man in Fool for Love , and Clov in Beckett's Endgame. Britt Boyd (Mrs. Cratchit/Quartet) Performing in A Christmas Carol has become one of Britt's favorite holiday traditions over the last six years! SSR audiences will remember her most recently as Emma Goldman in Assassins, Mrs. Lynde in Anne of Green Gables and Lucy in A Charlie Brown Christmas . Other favorite local credits include The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Seattle Musical Theatre), Mrs. Armstrong in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Seattle Public Theatre), Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense (Renton Civic Theater) and Martha in The Secret Garden (Kitsap Forest Theater). She has also performed locally with Village Theatre, ACT and Theater Schmeater. Cheers!

Catherine McCool (Martha Cratchit/Christmas Past) is beyond excited to be back at SSR! Catherine made her SSR debut in 2009 in Rapunzel (Young Rapunzel). She was last seen at SSR in A Little Night Music (Fredrika) and Little Women (Amy). Catherine graduated in 2018 from the University of Washington with a BA in Musical Theatre and Communication. Other favorite credits include: Getting Near to Baby (Little Sister), Wizard of Oz (Munchkin), and Brooklyn Bridge (Sasha u/s) at Seattle Children’s Theatre Mainstage, Into the Woods (Little Red), and My Fair Lady (Flower Girl) at Mount Baker Theatre, and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Susan) at Attic Theatre. Max Lopuszynski (Fred) SSR audiences may remember Max from last seasons Man of La Mancha, and Season 19’s The Last Starfighter. He’s also appeared in 5 young audience shows, including the current Christmas Carol Jr., and earlier this season in the record-breaking Elephant & Piggie’s “We are in a Play!” Outside SSR, he’s performed with Bainbridge Performing Arts, Drama Dock, Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan, Seattle Musical Theatre, Vashon Opera, and more. Niki Flynn (Beth/Rose) is super happy to commence her third season performing in SSR's A Christmas Carol. Most recently seen in SSR's production of Steel Magnolias (M'Lynn), Niki loves returning for this heart-warming show and the chance to work at the best theater around. Other credits from this year include Crimes of the Heart (Chick) at Woodinville Repertory and The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo) at The Kirkland Performance Center. Niki is also a baker at a local bakery and runs her own baking business on the side. In addition, she is an acting instructor for The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts and loves working with kids of all ages. Up next for Niki is Neil Simon's Chapter Two at Woodinville Repertory opening next March. Calen Winn (Marley/Christmas Present) is so excited to be in his first show with SecondStory! Calen is Seattle-based actor and director, favorite credits include Acting: Adult Men (understudy) - Spring Awakening (Basement Theatrics), Cod Fish Pete - Marina (Bellingham TheatreWorks), Mr. Jefferson/Mr. Grey/Others - RENT (WWU Mainstage), Steward - Into the Woods (Drama Dock), Officer Barrell - Urinetown (Drama Dock), the Cat - Honk! (Drama Dock). Directing: Escorting Tom (Burien Actors Theatre), Speech and Debate (WWU-Student Theatre Productions), Company (Asst. Director, Mount Baker Theatre). Sydney Possinger (Mary/Belle) is a senior at Redmond High School and is in her second year at Bellevue College. This is her second time in A Christmas Carol at SecondStory, and is so happy to be back. She is so glad to be working with an amazing group of artists and to be spending her holidays in the theater. Randy Alvarenga (Bob Cratchit) is excited to be returning to SecondStory Repertory! He was last seen as Joe in Twelfth Night Production's "9 to 5" and SSR's "Reefer Madness" as Jack/Jesus. He is happy to share with you all the spirit of Christmas, and wishes you and yours all the best this holiday season!

Madonna Kilpatrick (Mrs. Fezziwig/Mrs. Dilber) is delighted to be performing on the SSR stage again! In addition to last year’s Christmas Carol, Madonna was also seen as the Cat in Goodnight, Moon. Madonna is a ridiculous lady, who regularly performs standup, improv, and puppeteering shenanigans in the Seattle area, and hosts Off the Spectrum, a podcast for and about Autism, for the Mental Health News Radio Network.

Elliot Kraber (Quartet/Young Ebenezer/Ensemble) is excited for his first production at SecondStory. He has been singing with Viva Vocalists since 2012, as Jean Valjean and Marius (Les Miserable), Baker (Into the Woods), Jamie (Last Five Years), Maurice (End of the Affair), Quint (Turn of the Screw), and Seymour (Little Shop); and in 2014 he began as the first teaching assistant for the class. He played Jack (Into the Woods) with Twelfth Night Productions, and understudied Nanki-Poo (Mikado) and Luis (Gondoliers) with Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society. With Spokane Opera, Elliot sang in the chorus for Tosca and Magic Flute. He currently studies voice with Shawna Avinger, sings with The Esoterics under Eric Banks, and is Music Coordinator at Keystone UCC.

Gina Wilhelm (Jane/Christmas Future) is excited to make her SecondStory Repertory debut in A Christmas Carol! This is also the first time in nearly a decade she has appeared on stage with no puppets in hand. She had taken a break from Human Acting to perform with Thistle Theatre, in which capacity she has appeared several times at Atlanta, GA's, Center for Puppetry Arts. She last appeared in "Faeriestruck" at Annex Theatre, If she ever feels lonely, she sings duets and trios with her puppets.

Paul Brooks (Ebby/Peter Cratchit) 14, is happy to be back at SSR! Most recently he was seen as Zach Mooneyham in School of Rock: The Musical with Village Theatre KidStage. Previous shows include The Music Man (Ensemble) at Kirkland Performance Center, She Loves Me (Busboy & Ensemble) SSR, Into the Woods (Jack), and ‘Twas the Night (Caroler) both at Studio East. Paul enjoys piano, drums, guitar, percussion and singing in both solo performance and with rock band, jazz combo, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and church praise team. Sophia Dondisch (Belinda Cratchit) is a sophomore at Mercer Island High School and is so excited to be performing in A Christmas Carol for the first time. You may have seen her in Joe Turners Come and Gone as Zonia at Seattle Repertory Theatre earlier this year, Mamma Mia and Our Town at Mercer Island High School, along with 100 Dresses and War of the Worlds at Youth Theatre Northwest. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Lainey Kenny (Fan/Turkey Girl/Good King Solo) is in 6th grade and loves theater. She is really excited to be a part of A Christmas Carol. When she's not performing in shows or working hard in school, she enjoys playing soccer, lacrosse and basketball. She wishes everyone a very happy holiday season!

Leah Fernando (Tiny Tim) is10 years old and goes to school at Sacred Heart in Bellevue. Leah’s been in many school plays like, “Shrek: The Musical” and “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Leah is also part of the school choir. Besides singing and acting, Leah enjoys playing competitive golf, CYO basketball, CYO soccer, and Track & Field. This is Leah’s very first-time performing at the SecondStory Repertory, and Leah is very excited to be a part of this wonderful theater and playing the role of Tiny Tim.

PRODUCTION TEAM BIOGRAPHIES (as provided)

Jen Chenovick (Light Design) Jen's theatrical career began in 2002 when she was asked to assistant stage manage The Importance of Being Ernest right here at SSR. Following her passion for theater Jen moved to Hollywood in 2005 where she stage managed for The Blank Theatre including the oddly satisfying Lobster Alice starring Noah Wylie and Nicholas Brendon. While in California, she also worked with Syzygy Theatre Group and the World Premiere of Tender, Abi Morgan’s trenchant drama of the human hunger for connection. Jen moved back to Redmond in 2007 and jumped right back into her work with SSR. During her eighteen plus years at SSR Jen has worn many hats, from stage manager to production manager to managing director and now light design. Special thanks to my parents, they’re pretty cool.

Mark Chenovick (Set Design/Technical Director) has been designing, building, and painting sets since the mid-eighties. Having the fortune to begin his theatrical career under the tutelage of Don McLaughlin in his hometown of Helena Montana, Mark continued his training at the University of Washington where he was accepted into the Graduate Design Seminar his sophomore year. With subsequent degrees in Art History and Drama, Mark went on to serve as technical director/designer for multiple organizations including: Virginia Musical Theatre, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Little Theater of the Rockies, and the Norfolk Governor’s School for the Arts. As Technical Director/Production Manager of the national tour of Anything Goes (starring Gloria Loring) Mark travelled around the United States and Canada realizing that there is no place quite as wonderful as the Pacific Northwest. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, and following a brief stint as a carpenter at The Studio Theatre in Washington D.C., he moved back to Seattle. Locally he has worked behind the scenes for the Village Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, Redwood Theatre, and, of course, SecondStory Repertory.


Mark Chenovick (Sound Design) I began my sound design journey splicing reel-to-reel tape together in the basement of the original Penthouse Theater on the University of Washington campus but it was my brief time in the MFA program at Utah State University, where I learned the joys of digital sound design, and subsequently, became hooked on sound design for life. Having provided composed and curated underscoring and soundscaping, original and sourced sound effects, and performance amplification services for multiple theaters across the US, I have felt the most at home at SSR. Mark Chenovick (Projection Design) has designed projections for over 100 shows in the last ten years. Prior to that he worked with CJS design, a website design and hosting company, developing custom websites for clients ranging from Draper Valley Farms to Seattle Film Group. He also co-created and ran the now defunct SeattleActor.com, a website focused on Seattle area theater, featuring audition listings, helpful articles, and show reviews. In addition to projections, Mark also designs all of the marketing materials you see at SSR including; posters, show graphics, and website. All my love to Jen. Enjoy the show!
